About DonutNV Wilmington, DE

DonutNV of Wilmington, Delaware owners, Dan and Meg Hurst, are serial entrepreneurs and have a serious love for all things sweet! These two sweethearts met in middle school and started dating when Meg was earning her undergrad from Towson University in Psychology and Spanish. At the time, Dan was working in the oil industry as a safety inspector, and he continues to do so intermittently. Shortly after their wedding in 2013, they opened their very own original business called Cajun-Sno, a bright yellow food trailer that specializes in shaved ice and local hand dipped ice cream. After obtaining her masters degree from Chestnut Hill College in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy, they had their first child, Austin. Two years later, they welcomed a daughter, Mikayla, and bought their second Cajun-Sno trailer. Meg then quit her position as a therapist to work the food trucks full-time, while being able to raise their babies. Next, another daughter was born, Sienna, and in 2020, a few weeks prior to the pandemic shutdown, they bought a local ice cream shop called Sweet Lucy’s Ice Cream and Treats that was scheduled to close. A few short weeks later, they found out they were pregnant with their fourth baby, and Niko made his grand entrance in 2021. The following year, Meg and Dan’s love of the sweet life persisted and they attended DonutNV University and bought their first DonutNV trailer in July of 2022. They opened their serving window to the public and the community went wild over hot fresh mini donuts and fresh squeezed lemonade! In 2023, they welcomed their fifth baby to the family, Charlie Rose. Five months later, in February 2024, they brought home their second DonutNV trailer and shortly thereafter, in October 2024, the third DonutNV trailer made its grand entrance! Now, with 5 children (ages now ranging from 10 years old to 1 year old) in tow, running 5 food trucks, as well as their beloved ice cream shop, who knows what sweet venture will be next!
